Project Background
The Mangrove Bay school base is located on the south side of the Shenzhen Bay OCT National Wetland Park.
The mangrove forests rely on their luxuriant root systems to breathe on the sea surface and clump along the coast to form a maritime forest, providing habitat for wildlife and weakening the wind and waves for human beings. The image of the tree has always symbolised wisdom and shelter in the minds of mankind, and I hope that the new campus will provide children with a learning experience as close to nature as the mangroves do.
The site of this project is small, I propose to divide the primary school and secondary school vertically, set up an elevated floor as a transition space, arrange a sky stadium, and adopt a structurally-minimised tree-like structure, which is combined into a learning colony by means of unit modularity.
In order to create an eco-friendly campus atmosphere for the future, it is configured with abundant public space, multi-level greenery, diverse vertical traffic, semi-outdoor space adapted to the southern climate...
The children will appreciate the spirit of nature under the shelter of this mangrove forest, give play to their own nature and grow up healthily and happily.
