he original kitchen was semi-enclosed space with congested circulation and blocked lighting. After renovation, the opened kitchen connects entryway, dining area and living room, forms new circulation, makes entrance more open and brighter.
The living room has the functions of reception, relaxation, reading and working. With multiple spatial attributes, the occupant like spending the most of time at there. Due to the client lives in this apartment alone, the requirement for privacy is unnecessary. We open up the interior space, use curtain as partition separates living room and bedroom. The open space enhances natural lighting, ventilation and visual connection.

Writing and reading are client’s job and hobby, the full wall bookshelves and desk creates a quietness and concentration area. Through the trivial objects and collections, the space gradually developing as an exclusive environment with personal characteristics.
The bedroom and living room are separated by curtain, that blurring and weakening the boundary of public and private areas. The opened interior layout is more conform with one-person living condition of client.
The corner of bathroom is installed with curved frosted glass, echoes the shape of wall and ceiling, meanwhile, providing natural light for internal of the space. The bathroom separates wet zone and dry zone for cleaning and convenience. Rectangular tile with avocado-color wall paint and terrazzo patterned tiles create a sense of retro atmosphere.
