Project Background
Balai and Pagmaya when combined with Comfort Theory, gives the impression of a modern modern-Filipino home that is inclusive, comfortable, safe, and appropriate for the needs of its users. It evokes a state of mind that is positive, optimistic, warm and full of strength and happiness of a family. This is to approach families with positivity and encouraging everyone in the family to face difficulties together and joyfully.
Project Concept
Balai is a Malay word for house, and
translated as “Bahay” in tagalog. Balai Pagmaya as the concept promotes an adequate, accessible and inclusive design that also offers a safe, comfortable and relaxing space with "pagmaya” or a feeling of great happiness and rejoice and have the potential to see the good in possibilities instead of problems
Project Highlights
A Modern-Filipino design Style incorporating the ideas of Comfort Theory by Katherine Kolcaba. The design project used sustainable design such as of reclaimed woods, fluted panels and Filipino environment friendly elements. All reusable existing accessories are incorporated in the design. The design will follow the concept of Pagmaya happiness.
Materials & Processing Technology
Specific designs under pagmaya includes the design request by the clients, comfortable sofa, tv height for eye comfort, neutral color scheme, woods, carpets and inclusions of aroma oils and diffusers for added relaxation.
