Project Background
Located in the city center, there are two research and development centers, one is the sports center, and the other is the botany center. The design team explained that the park is starting from here, constantly moving towards progress and achieving diversity. A linear plant and tree nursery is integrated on the central ring road. At the same time, visitors can unlock new ways of movement and learn the latest technology used in these activities in the natural forest environment.
Project Concept
As the first phase of the 600-hectare park project nears completion, it has become a landmark in the region. At the first World Architecture Festival held in China, the design won the honor of WAFChina 2020 and the overall best landscape design award for its outstanding design. It is expected that the second phase of the park will begin in 2021.
Project Highlights
Part of the Forest Sports Park, showing the diversity of organisms and the wide range of uses.
Project Aerial View
In this area, which connects the park with the city and the forest, the Red Trail is a landmark. Along the way, a series of pavilions are used as restaurants, restrooms, observation decks and forest cabins. In order to minimize the impact on the environment, these modular structures are prefabricated off-site. Putting them up on stakes frees up floor space and provides visitors with rare shade during the hot summer months.
LOLA, TALLER and LCC have jointly designed an elevated red path that leads to the adjacent forest, where you can enjoy the city and the distant mountains. Therefore, the park is actually a transition between Guangming City and the forest reserve. While the region has developed in the field of innovative industries, it has focused on innovation in the field of sports and ecology through parks.
