Project Background
The Modern Commercial Complex Building Design
This Sports Complex is part of our thesis, "Ponte Verde Township: Climate-Resilient Buildings and Infrastructure." The project designs a sustainable urban model addressing climate change through computational analysis of building performance, solar radiation, and wind patterns.
We incorporate vegetation, water features, and efficient materials. This study sets the groundwork for the Pontevedra Economic Zone, aiming for a greener, more resilient future.
The Modern Commercial Complex Building Design
To achieve our desired results, we utilized various tools within the Rhinoceros software. This allowed us to analyze and refine building forms and infrastructure efficiently, ensuring optimal climate resilience, reduced heat absorption, and enhanced natural cooling. By starting with basic forms and iteratively testing and improving them, we identified the most effective design.
The Modern Commercial Complex Building Design
In our study, each of us chose a particular zone where we analyzed its building forms and infrastructure to determine the most efficient design for adapting to climate resilience, reducing heat absorption, and promoting natural cooling. We started with basic forms and experimented with them until we arrived at the final form that performed the best among the designs we created.

This final design is the best option. The Main Sports Building supports various sports and includes staff offices.
Built with durable, eco-friendly materials like reinforced concrete and steel, it features energy-efficient windows for better lighting and insulation.
We’ve also added green spaces around the building, which enhance aesthetics, provide cooling, and support wildlife. This design combines functionality with sustainability.
This building in the sports complex provides essential accommodation for athletes, with 14 bedrooms for women and 21 for men, each accommodating 6 to 8 athletes.
The ground floor includes a conference room, canteen, living area, entertainment space, and commercial units for future rental.
Adjacent to the building is a versatile 12m x 25m pool designed for lap swimming, recreational swimming, water aerobics, and competitive events. This aquatic area can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.
