We are potentially buying a ranch-style house off treservoir. 9' unfinished basement, 8' ceilings on main level. 1980 construction and decor. Want to add second floor, raise main ceilings 9'. 2nd floor can not be the whole house, she gets over welmed but that doesnt mean celing heights are limited to 9' on 1st floor.
