Project Background
Located at one of Addis Ababa affluent neighborhoods, this residence sits on a large compound with lush greeneries. The design brief entailed restoring an Old building dating more than half a century and adding modern luxuries amenities to the compound to satisfy the client needs. The client had an extensive traveling background and his check list was long and with the intention of the highest quality.
Through rigorous design meetings the design brief evolved into a large estate comprising of 2 additional building blocks that cater for additional bedrooms, offices, spa facility, etc. the old building was to be fully gutted and restored with a couple of room additions and ceiling height increase.
The client’s inspiration for the exterior of the house was to resemble one of top hotels in Addis Ababa, Sheraton Addis. So, to visually integrate the three blocks and to create harmony a classical architecture theme was applied on the facades.
