Project Background
This project entails combining a logistics hub, warehouses, a government customs office, factories, dormitories and a hotel all in the same limited lot. In addition there is also a substantial level difference between the northern and southern edges of the lot, and an intrusive corner occupied by city infrastructure to the southwest.
Master Plan Renderings
After several futile attempts to squeeze the various conflicting functions onto the available lot, in the end we abandoned this approach and decided upon vertically integrating them instead.
Master Plan
The level difference actually worked to our favor and we were able to create two semi-open basement levels that housed parking, canteen, support services and the hotel lobby to the southmost portion. The 1st two levels fill up virtually the entire lot and became the logistics hub, their warehouses and a corner became the customs office.
Exterior Renderings
The roof of this was gardened and vehicular ramps added for firefighting access, and finally several towers on stilts placed on top of this to serve as offices, factories, warehouses or dormitories as required. The southmost tower became the hotel.
