Why Did You Join BuildMost?
Jalenie Adamu Wakoya: I joined BuildMost because BuildMost is my ideal website to search for freelance jobs as an architectural designer. BuildMost has very interesting features like being able to see if the bid is full and the requirements are posted in a clearer way compared to other freelance platforms. All in all, the website is designed with consideration for the users especially the designers. That is why I joined BuildMost.
What is Your Secret to Successfully Inviting So Many Designers?
Jalenie Adamu Wakoya: I have used different techniques to invite designers to join BuildMost since the start. The key method that helps me the most was sharing design opportunities that BuildMost offers in architectural designer groups on social media, and telling designers I can help them join BuildMost when they need assistance.
Where Did You Find More Designers and Introduce Them to BuildMost?
Jalenie Adamu Wakoya: I found designers from both online and offline. I recommended my colleagues to join BuildMost in real life. Social media also has power. For other architectural and interior designers, I will use social media to find them. I also invite designers by networking. I would tell designers that they can also invite their designer friends to join.
Did You Encounter Problems in Inviting Designers?
Jalenie Adamu Wakoya: Yes. One of the problems that I faced was designers are quick to register, but they were not so enthusiastic to complete information and upload design works. To finish the invitation, the invited designers will have to register, complete information, and then upload three design works. Some of them has concerns over the confidentiality of their designer credentials. Last, they want to know if I can get a job from the platform? What benefit can they get as a designer?
How Did You Deal With Problems Like These?
Jalenie Adamu Wakoya: For the first issue, I would prepare training sessions to assist designers to upload their design works. For the second one, I will share all the information about BuildMost to help them have a better understanding of what BuildMost is, what BuildMost does, how can BuildMost help designer succeed. I would strongly suggest each of the designer to see the BuildMost official website personally. Generally, they would know BuildMost can help them and agree to join.
What is Your Take on the Future of BuildMost?
Jalenie Adamu Wakoya: Since most things in the future will be online, BuildMost is the ideal place for designers. Many designers are looking for more, better features on BuildMost. My friends and I will continue to submit design intents on BuildMost for design opportunities. Our major concerns are finance and the reliability of clients.
Some Words for Other Designers?
Jalenie Adamu Wakoya: As a designer, I would suggest you to explore more on BuildMost and you will likely get a freelance job.
