Hello! My name is Afua Boadu and I am a fashion and interior designer. My background and first BA degrees are in fashion design, visual and performing arts and French. I started my foray into interior design back in Oct 2019 when I was contracted to renovate a dilapidated space used for a lab and screening purpose into an airbnb apartment. This experience gave me my first practical experience in project management, creating interior design renderings, hiring tradesmen, sourcing and purchasing pieces and building materials required and executing agreed upon designs in the finished space. Within a year, I started an online diploma course in interior design and have just completed it. Since then I have created more renderings for individual clients including two office spaces and an indoor swimming pool area on the first floor of a 4 floor residential building complex. My best skill set lies in rendering the interior spaces and advising on how the spaces should be set up based on the client’s preferences and what is appropriate for the space. I believe the client is always right and everything is possible, within reason. I am inspired and guided by a myriad of influences and studies including architecture, art and fashion history, carpentry, lighting design, product design, garment and accessory design and construction, digital marketing, project management and grant writing and funding. I use all these experiences to better inform and guide my work to create a unique design for each client. I look forward to working closely with a client to implement their heart’s desire in their spaces.
