Excellent Corrosion Resistance:
The content of chromium (Cr), the main alloying element in stainless steel bars, is relatively high. Chromium can form a dense oxide film on the surface of the steel, preventing corrosive media such as oxygen and moisture from coming into contact with the interior of the steel, thus endowing the stainless steel bars with good corrosion resistance. This corrosion resistance enables them to maintain relatively good performance in humid, acidic, and alkaline harsh environments, making them suitable for industries with high requirements for material corrosion resistance, such as the chemical industry, marine engineering, and food processing.
High Strength:
After reasonable processing and heat treatment, stainless steel bars possess relatively high strength and can withstand relatively large loads. The strength of different types of stainless steel bars varies. Martensitic stainless steel bars (such as 410, 420, etc.) have relatively high strength and hardness and are suitable for manufacturing cutting tools, mechanical parts, and other components that need to withstand relatively high stresses. Austenitic stainless steel bars (such as 304, 316, etc.) also have relatively high strength while having good corrosion resistance and are widely used in fields such as building structures and pressure vessels.
Good Toughness:
Stainless steel bars have good toughness and can absorb energy when subjected to impact or vibration without being prone to fracture. This characteristic makes stainless steel bars have relatively good reliability and safety in some occasions where dynamic loads need to be borne, such as bridges and mechanical transmission systems. Even in a low-temperature environment, the toughness of stainless steel bars can still be maintained relatively well, making them suitable for some low-temperature working conditions, such as liquid nitrogen storage equipment.
