Excellent Thermal Insulation Performance
Low Thermal Conductivity: The thermal conductivity of polyurethane foam boards is as low as 0.017 - 0.022 W/m·k, much lower than that of other common thermal insulation materials such as EPS. The thermal insulation effect of each centimeter thickness is equivalent to that of 40 cm red bricks. It can effectively reduce heat transfer, keep the indoor temperature relatively stable, reduce the energy consumption of buildings, and improve energy utilization efficiency.
Stable Closed-Cell Structure: Its closed-cell rate is above 90%. It is a hydrophobic material. The foam cells are independent and not interconnected with each other. The surface is relatively dense, and water vapor is not easy to penetrate. The thermal insulation performance will not be reduced due to moisture, having a long-term and stable thermal insulation effect.
Good Mechanical Properties
High Strength: It has a large compressive strength and can resist the action of various mechanical external forces. It has a good bearing capacity and can ensure the stability and safety of the building structure. For example, in some application scenarios such as roof and ground insulation that need to bear relatively large pressure, it can play its bearing role well.
Good Toughness: The dimensional stability is less than 1%. It has a certain toughness, and the elongation rate is greater than 5%. It is not easy to crack. When subjected to a certain degree of external impact or temperature change, it can maintain a relatively good integrity, reducing the problem of insulation failure caused by deformation, cracking, etc.
Outstanding Fire Resistance Performance
Flame Retardant and Self-Extinguishing: After adding a flame retardant, the polyurethane foam board is a flame-retardant self-extinguishing material. It will self-extinguish and carbonize within 3 seconds after leaving the fire, and will not melt. When burning, carbon will be formed on the surface of the foam. This layer of carbon helps to isolate the foam below and can effectively prevent the spread of the flame. Its softening point can reach above 250 degrees Celsius, and it will only decompose at a relatively high temperature.
Low Smoke and Non-toxic: It does not produce harmful gases even at high temperatures, reducing the harm to human bodies and environmental pollution during a fire.
Good Waterproof and Moisture-proof Performance
Due to the high closed-cell rate, the polyurethane foam board has good waterproof performance. The wall surface will not seep water. Even when used in a humid environment, it is not easy to get damp, which can effectively avoid problems such as the decline of thermal insulation performance and damage to the board caused by water intrusion.
