Its main components are iron (Fe) and carbon (C). The carbon content ranges from 0.14% to 0.22%, and this range of carbon content determines that it has certain strength and hardness. Meanwhile, it also contains alloying elements such as silicon (Si) and manganese (Mn). The silicon content is generally below 0.30%, and the manganese content is around 0.30% - 0.65%. Silicon can increase the strength of steel, while manganese is mainly used to improve the toughness and hardenability of steel.
Control of Harmful Elements: Just like other types of Q235 steel, strict control is exerted over the two harmful elements, sulfur (S) and phosphorus (P). The sulfur content shall not exceed 0.050%, and the phosphorus content shall not exceed 0.045%. Because sulfur can lead to hot brittleness of steel and phosphorus can cause cold brittleness, strict control of their contents can ensure the performance stability of steel under different temperature environments.
Strength and Yield Strength: Q235H steel has good strength performance, and its yield strength is generally not lower than 235 MPa. This enables it to maintain the structural stability when subjected to certain external forces and will not easily undergo plastic deformation. For example, when Q235H steel is used in components such as beams and columns in building structures, it can bear the weight of the building itself as well as certain additional loads.
Toughness and Plasticity: The elongation rate of this steel is not lower than 26% (under the condition of the tensile test with the gauge length being five times the diameter), indicating that it has good toughness and plasticity. When subjected to impact or dynamic loads, it can absorb energy through its own plastic deformation and reduce the risk of structural damage.
